The Biancocelesti have always qualified for the quarter-finals since 2011, but Bologna are unbeaten at the Olimpico in the Cup
Lazio is ready to make its debut in the Italian Cup. At the Stadio Olimpico, Sarri’s team faces a Bologna in excellent form, a little black beast in the competition for the Biancocelesti. Sarri and Thiago Motta have to do without their respective strikers: Immobile on one side, Arnautovic (but also Sansone) on the other. Kick-off tomorrow at 18.00, whoever gets through will challenge the winner of Juventus-Monza in the quarter-finals.
THE PREDICTION
—
Tradition in the competition favors Lazio even if Bologna will arrive at the Olimpico to have their say. The two teams have always created matches full of goals and, above all, Bologna have always conceded away goals since the beginning of the season. Lazio for its part was unable to keep the goal away from them in their last home match, 2-2 against Empoli. For this reason, an interesting odd is the one that refers to Goal + Over 2.5 which is worth 2.10 for Sisal and Better and 2.13 for StarCasinò Bet.
THE QUOTE
—
All bookmakers agree: Lazio is the favorite team to win. The success of Sarri’s team starts from 1.80 of Bet365, 1.85 of Sisal up to 1.89 of Net Bet and SportBet. A draw in 90 minutes, which has occurred in three out of ten total ties in the competition, is worth 3.5o for most operators. A success by Bologna, which would qualify for the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2012/2013 season, is worth 4.50 for Betfair and Sisal and 4.75 for Bet365.
The expectation is for a sparkling match at the Olympic stadium, as also demonstrated by the odds of the Goal sign which starts from 1.80 on Bet365 up to 1.87 on Betfair. The chances are higher that one of Lazio and Bologna won’t be able to score a single goal. In this case the odds values range from 1.90 for Betfair to 2.03 for Planetwin. Balance instead as regards the number of goals: if in fact the Over 2.5 ranges from 1.85 for Better and GoldBet up to 2.00 for Betfair, the Under 2.5 is slightly lower: at 1.85 for Bet365, GoldBet and Better and at 1.90 for Planetwin .
So far, the round of 16 of the Italian Cup has held several surprises: Milan and Napoli eliminated, Inter ahead only in extra time. What will happen to the Olimpico? A success of the biancocelesti in extra time is instead worth 9.50 for Bet365; at 19.00 that of Bologna.
THE MARKERS
—
Orphaned of its best bomber, Lazio will be able to count on the contribution of other important players, Luis Alberto above all. In fact, the Spaniard contributed to eight goals against Bologna in Serie A, 2 goals and 6 assists, and the rossoblù is the formation against which he has provided the most assists in the top flight. A goal by the Magician to open the scoring is worth up to 8.50 for Sisal. Sponda Bologna the certainty is called Riccardo Orsolini, the only player to have scored at least one goal in each of the four previous editions of the Italian Cup. His signature to unlock the match is worth 12.00 for Bet365 and Sisal.
STATISTICS AND BACKGROUND
—
The Coppa Italia brings good luck to Lazio. The Biancocelesti have in fact passed the round of 16 in all the last 11 editions of the tournament since the 2011/2012 season. But Bologna are a tough opponent in the Cup: in ten previous matches in the competition, the rossoblù have remained unbeaten nine times (W6, D3) and the only Biancoceleste success dates back to 1960, away from home. Lazio, therefore, looking for the first home victory in the Italian Cup against Bologna, with an important ally: the Stadio Olimpico, where the Biancocelesti have played 27 matches in the Italian Cup, winning 22 (four draws and only one defeat, against Juventus in 2015/16).
