According to the study data, the global average of spending on video games is $68 dollars, but with respect to Latinos it is $28 dollars.
Clearly, one of the main factors is the difference in income, different salaries and different currency stability causes reduced spending on video games. Other interesting facts are that, in Mexico, the 45% of gamers under 25 only download free video games, in Brazil it is a 40% and in Colombia the percentage rises to 55%. Added to this, there are reasons such as considering that the price is too high, there is a fear of buying online and they do not have access to credit tools.
This is directly related to the fact that mobile gaming has a high impact in this region, due to the fact that playing on smartphones offers easy, immediate and affordable access for young players, being able to play free games with microtransactions such as Free Fire. Finally, the study found that Latin Americans spend more time online than in any other part of the world. The most important thing is that the gaming industry in Latin America is growing, but the obstacle is the economic limits.
