The Los Angeles Lakers basketball players have ended the Memphis Grizzlies’ winning streak in the NBA. After eleven wins in a row, the Grizzlies went down 122-121 in LA. The German Dennis Schröder played the leading role in the last 13 seconds of the game.
The 29-year-old Schröder hit three free throws and in the meantime also scored with a lay-up after taking the ball from a player of the Grizzlies. Schröder gave the Lakers the win. Russell Westbrook was the top scorer at the home team with 29 points, superstar LeBron James put together 23 points.
The seventeen-time NBA champion is having a disappointing season and is in the lower echelons of the West with 21 wins to 25 losses. The Grizzlies take second place 31-14 behind Denver Nuggets (33-13).
Kyrie Irving gave the Brooklyn Nets a 48-point victory over the Utah Jazz: 117-106. After four losses in a row, the Nets had something to celebrate.
