The club’s position already in the press release after the request of the Federal Attorney: “There are no conditions for the appeal”. And Ferrero at the inauguration: “We will defend ourselves rigorously in every venue, we respect those who judge us but we want equal respect when discussing the reasons for our actions”
Juventus filed its defense brief with the Federal Court of Appeal. The Juventus club is confident that the request from the FIGC Prosecutor’s Office to reopen the proceeding on the so-called capital gains, after the first and second degree acquittal last spring, will also be rejected on the basis of the reasons contained in the pages presented to the judges in recent days. But what is contained in this memory? Indiscretions are not filtering from Juve, but the defensive line of the Juventus club has already been known for some time, as also communicated on 22 December, when the news of the request from the federal prosecutor was made public.
The official press release from the Turin-based company reiterated its belief that it can demonstrate before the judicial authorities “the correctness of its actions, the absence of new elements that have arisen that are relevant for the judgment with respect to the decision of the Federal Court of Appeal and the lack of the conditions of the proposed appeal”. Basically, nothing has changed for Juve compared to May, when all the clubs involved in the investigation were acquitted of all charges.
The willingness to defend Juve from every accusation had also emerged from the clear words of the new president, Gianluca Ferrero, after the assembly that ratified his appointment: “Challenges await us in the coming weeks and months, for which we as the board of directors believe we have the experience, the competence and the determination to defend Juventus and our team in all the competent venues: criminal, sporting and civil. We will do so with determination, rigorously, even calmly and without no form of arrogance. We have always respected, we respect and always will, all those who are called to judge us. But we want equal respect to be able to discuss with seriousness and rigour, in the competent fora, what were the motivations for our actions”. Starting today in Rome.
