Surely at some time in your life you have seen the first Jurassic Park movie, one of the adventures of Indiana Jones, or you have remembered the theme of Jaws while you were bathing in the sea (or even in the pool). In that case, you’ve witnessed the John Williams-Steven Spielberg union.
Composer and conductor have been close for decades. It is no coincidence that the 90-year-old New York composer has been present in the vast majority of Steven Spielberg filmswith some exceptions (like the Star Wars saga).
It is one of the great fears of the movie fan: one day losing this incomparable symbiosis of talent. But don’t worry, because they have rope left for a while.

5 CURIOSITIES of INDIANA JONES IN SEARCH OF THE LOST ARK, the classic that started it all
Some time ago, John Williams said that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate (fifth installment of the saga, which opens this summer) would be his last film, which made many sad.
But none of that. At a recent concert that brought together Williams and Spielbergthe legendary composer of soundtracks assured that his time had not yet come.
When will John Williams retire?
It is one of the questions that no movie or music fan wants to face. Until very recently we were clear that the farewell would come in a few months, with the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate in theaters.
On January 12, at the Spielberg/Williams event: 50 years of music and cinema, the composer spoke about the timing of his retirementand lightened the hearts of many fans.
The most iconic clips from Jurassic Park, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Indiana Jones and other Spielberg tapes that feature music by Williams. It was one of the great events that every fan of the seventh art remembers.
”We always said we would retire at the same time. So if he’s not, I guess I’m not either,” John Williams asserts emphatically.
As clear as water. What John Williams means is that Won’t Retire Until Director Steven Spielberg Does. Come on, we still have years of delight.
Somehow, Williams ”blames” (humorously) Spielberg that he cannot retire yet, otherwise the director would feel very lonely. One of the best news we could have in this 2023 that has just begun.
”Steven is many things. He’s a director, he’s a producer, he’s a studio head, he’s a writer, he’s a philanthropist, he’s an educator. One thing he is not is a man you can say no to.

What we didn’t know is that John Williams’ longevity and talent runs in the family. The composer, who is currently 90 years old, assures that is following the example of his father, who worked until he was 102 years old. That awful!
What will be next for Spielberg and Williams? On June 30 of this year, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate will be released, a film produced by Steven Spielberg and with music from John Williamswhich will be directed by James Mangold (Logan, The 3:10 Train) and starring Harrison Ford.
