Tension remains very high in Jerusalem after the attack that yesterday caused the death of 7 faithful at the exit of a synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood: this morning in the east of the city there was a new attack near the archaeological site
Two were injured, father and son aged forty-seven and twenty-seven, while the police announced that they had “neutralized” the attacker, a thirteen-year-old boy.
The victims were treated immediately and their conditions were defined as serious but stable. The boy opened fire on Ma’alot Street, hitting the two victims in the chest.
Two armed civilians, with regular firearms licenses, stopped him: he is now in custody, seriously injured. He is a resident of East Jerusalem.
The Israeli security forces are trying to understand if he acted alone or if he has accomplices. In a video that captures the moments of the shots, he can clearly be heard shouting ‘Allah Akbar’.
The city is armored: at least 42 people were arrested by the police following the terrorist attack yesterday evening at the exit of a synagogue after Shabbat. They are all residents of the a-Tur neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
The family members of the bomber, who was killed yesterday after the attack, are also in handcuffs. The Israeli security forces have raised the state of alert and ordered further deployments of forces in the West Bank.
