This Tuesday starts the coldest day of the week. César Gonzalo has gone to the port of Navacerrada to see first-hand the thermal sensation in this cold storm. At this border point between the Community of Madrid and Castilla y León, the meteorologist found everything frozen with a strong wind. The thermometer that crowns that port indicates that temperatures have dropped to 7 degrees below zero in the early hours of the morning. The wind begins to blow strongly and the ski slopes begin to open.
The cold is intense on this day. The thermometers have come down to -13 in Sierra Nevada (Granada), Astún (Huesca) and Cap de Vaqueira (Lleida). The values below zero predominate throughout the interior and only the coastal areas are spared.
The cold has caused orange level warnings to be activated in the Pyrenees with temperatures of up to 15 degrees below zero. The cold is allowing some flakes to fall in Catalonia surrounding the city of Barcelona. Light snowfalls are expected in the communities of the Cantabrian Sea and the north of Burgos.
This day will leave accumulated clouds in the north of the Canary Islands. In the afternoon there will only be 3 degrees maximum in the north of Castilla y León in the community of Madrid there are 7 degrees forecast.
