ROME, 16 JAN – The army of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) said that a bomb exploded in a church in the province of North Kivu and caused at least 10 deaths and 39 wounded. Military spokesman Antony Mualushayi said the “terrorist act” took place in a Pentecostal church in the city of Kasindi, North Kivu, which is located on the border with neighboring Uganda. Following the blast, he added, a Kenyan national was arrested but it was unclear whether he was the perpetrator. A few hours later the claim came from the branch of Isis in Central Africa, the Iscap. The jihadists reported having planted and detonated a bomb, causing “dozens” of deaths and injuries among “Christians”, and threatened further attacks. (HANDLE).
