Developing video games is an extremely difficult task, so it is normal for some projects to be in the oven for many years. However, it is true that there are titles that, for one reason or another, suffer from a bumpy production. Along those lines is Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones.
Since its announcement in that distant 2017, the navigation and naval combat proposal has seen a multitude of delays, 6 to be exact. Uncertainty is on the table, and neither the fans nor the developers believe that it will be a success. Despite this, its development continues. Of course, a new track suggests that its launch could be far away.

Skull and Bones is no longer sold on PlayStation
The last delay arose on January 11. Players who pre-ordered Skull and Bones Deluxe Edition on the PS Store have since reported on social media that they received automatic refunds. In parallel, the title can no longer be purchased from the PlayStation ecosystem store.
If we visit the PS Store, it stands out that it is only possible to follow the Ubisoft title and add it to the wish list. Its release window is unknown, with the description only stating that it will debut sometime this year.

As reported by Kotaku, it is normal for the PlayStation Store to refund pre-orders when a video game changes its release date and is withdrawn from sale; it’s a policy. However, it seems that users who pre-ordered on the Sony store did not receive any emails that provided information regarding this situation.
Of course, users can still purchase Skull and Bones on PC (via the Epic Games Store) and in the Xbox stores. It seems that the preorders were not canceled on said platforms.
In case you missed it: Skull & Bones will not be focused on the story
With this on the table, it’s clear that many gamers fear the worst and think that Ubisoft’s controversial naval video game is a long way from seeing the light of day. The most pessimistic believe that it will be canceled sooner or later. In any case, it is clear that 2023 will be a critical year for the French company.
But tell us, what do you think of this situation? Has your pre-order been canceled in recent days? Let us read you in the comments.
