TEHRAN, 22 JAN – “If some political leaders of European states, including Germany, do not follow the path of wisdom, Iran will take retaliatory actions”: said Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, specifying that ” Iran’s action could consist of withdrawing from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) or expelling the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)”. Amir-Abdollahian spoke after a meeting with parliamentarians on the possibility of the Revolutionary Guards being blacklisted by the EU as terrorist organizations at an upcoming meeting. “The European Parliament has shot itself in the foot,” the minister said referring to Wednesday’s vote in the European Parliament to blacklist the Guards, adding that the Iranian parliament is discussing a plan to designate “elements of the armies of the Europeans as terrorists”.
