Inés Gómez Mont and her husband, Víctor Álvarez Puga, have been accused of tax fraud of 3 billion pesos since September 2021.
Since then, Gómez Mont and Álvarez Puga have been fugitives from justice, because the government of Mexico asked Interpol for a red file for the search and location of the couple of socialites.
After the accusations against her, Inés Gómez Mont reappeared on social networks. “I have never stolen a peso. I am a television host and full-time mother,” she wrote in a message. The most recent time she was heard from on Instagram was October 14, 2021. That day he assured in an extensive written message that it was all about a persecution in bad faith against her and her husband.
Based on press reports, Inés pointed out that the prosecutor, Carlos Romero Aranda, had initiated criminal proceedings without being legally empowered to do so. He also assured that on September 10 there was no existing arrest warrant, but the authorities were interested in which she was tried and condemned in public opinion.
And, third, she indicated that Judge Zeferin Hernández, who initially knew of the slander against her and her husband, finally became an accomplice. “I repeat it and I support it: I am innocent and this is an injustice,” she reads.
