Iberia has suffered today failures in their systems of connectivity that have directly affected its operations, leaving flights canceled and delays. The announcement was made by the company itself this morning through the networksin which at first it explained that due to “a crash in its systems” the billing and boarding service had stopped at various airports.
Hours later, the airline went a little further and confirmed that the incident was still affecting its operations. “Today’s flights are experiencing delays. We apologize to our customers and thank you for your understanding. Everyone at Iberia is working to solve it as soon as possible”, notes the airline on Twitter. At the moment it has not yet notified the resolution of the problems.
Both the EFE and Europa Press agencies specify that the failure of the system would focus on Madrid, although its consequences have been felt beyond the Adolfo Suárez Barajas aerodrome and have marked the operations of other aerodromes with flights scheduled for today with origin or destination in Madrid.
Barajas is, after all, the main aerodrome in the AENA network, with 50.6 million passengers over the past year, well ahead of El Prat, second with 41.6; or the third, that of Palma de Mallorca, with 28.6.
Due to a connectivity issue with our systems, today’s flights are experiencing delays. We apologize to our customers and thank you for your understanding. Everyone at Iberia is working to solve it as soon as possible.

The incident would have forced the cancellation of at least half a dozen flights with scheduled departures in Barajas and destinations in different terminals in the country and abroad, specifically Jerez, Vigo, Barcelona, London and Lisbon. The company confirmed to EFE that it is trying to relocate passengers affected. Another of its consequences has been delays that, at least in certain cases, lasted at least an hour.
Europa Press specifies that of the five confirmed cancellations, three correspond to flights that were initially scheduled for the morning and another two affect afternoon operations. To mitigate the situation, boarding and billing would have been done manually with a hardened template. Iberia and Iberia Express planned to carry out more than 245 flights today.
