A few days ago we asked you to send us all the questions that came to mind about Holafly eSIMs. And after having been testing them, today we bring you a video with all the answers to the questions that you sent us.
Q&A of Holafly eSIMs, in video
We start the video with the question of how exactly these eSIMs work. It is a technology similar to that of the SIM cards that we carry inside our mobile phones, but in digital format, without a physical card. This means that you will not have to insert or remove the card in the phone. They are installed using a QR codeand you only need to have a mobile compatible with this technology, because unfortunately not all of them are.
You have also asked us about the unlimited data of the eSIMs of this company. You have to contract these cards for one of the 160 available destinations, and for each one there is a price and some different conditions. When you choose one of the destinations, you will have to choose how many days you want it to last this eSIM, and thus adapt the price to the number of days for which you need it. In almost all cases, the data is unlimited during that time.
Once you buy the eSIM, you will receive an email with the installation instructions. To install it, you will need to have an Internet connection, so it is better to do it before you go on a trip. By scanning the QR, the mobile will detect the eSIM and you will be able to activate both the card and roaming.
With these eSIM you will keep your phone number, since it is a data-only service, and it acts as a secondary SIM that only works in the destination country for which you have contracted it. For calls, you can take advantage of this connection and make them through WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps.
We also answer in the video questions like if the eSIM can be used on multiple phones, coverage, or conditions associated with each destination. We also talk about its expiration or the maximum time during which we can hire it. These and all other questions are answered in the video.
