Herrmann scored the goal in the Brabant get-together with TOP Oss. The team from Oss kicked off, but lost the ball after a few seconds. NAC Breda managed to take advantage of this and the ball was in the net after just eight seconds.
Because of his goal, Herrmann is in a row with Rudy Metz (in 1982 on behalf of FC Volendam), Geert den Ouden (in 2000 for Excelsior), Hilmi Mihci (in 2001 on behalf of FC Den Bosch) and Loïc Loval (in 2005 for De Graafschap) . They also all scored after eight seconds.
Fastest ever
The goal is just not the fastest in Dutch professional football. Not many people will remember, but on January 28, 1968, Kees van Iersel already scored after seven seconds on behalf of Baronie. This happened in the then Second Division.
The record in the Eredivisie has been held by Koos Waslander since March 20, 1982. The footballer (also from NAC Breda) then scored after eight seconds in the match against PEC Zwolle.
That record was already equaled last summer. Sparta player Vito van Crooij then also scored after exactly eight seconds in the Eredivisie match against AZ.
