Perhaps we could think that niche games are free from hacker threats, since generally the interest is in those popular titles and communities. Unfortunately this is not the case and we can all be targeted by these subjects, an example of this is what the Guilty Gear Strive community has experienced for a few days since they have ruined the gaming experience.

Hackers are doing their thing to ruin Guilty Gear Strive
According to a report from Wccftech, the Guilty Gear Strive community is having a really bad time after it was confirmed that hackers are attacking the game by taking advantage of an exploit in the R-Code system through the game client, which allows them to allows you to ruin the game in different ways. Namely, based on the same community reports, the attack against Guilty Gear Strive allows hackers to collect player data and prevent them from connecting to online matches.
whoever is using this r-code exploit can now use this vulnerability to cause the GGST client to have some sort of leak, slowing the game to an unplayable crawl
this occurs even in training mode, and doesnt happen with steam in offline mode

In addition, the attack is reported to enable hackers to modify items mid-match affecting players and are even able to abruptly end the fight whenever they feel like it, which means Guilty Gear Strive may be considered unplayable under those conditions.
On the other hand, players indicate that in some cases the experience has slowed down and is affecting all modes that require an online connection. Unfortunately, this situation is affecting users of Guilty Gear Strive on PlayStation and PC, being the second most complex case as hackers have even blocked player computers.
So far, more cases are reported by prominent members of the Guilty Gear Strive community, so it seems that the attack is directed towards them, however it is not limited and any player can be affected.
Guilty Gear Strive is available on PS4, PS5, and PC.
