The rumors (albeit unofficial) that hypothesize a reappearance of the Gilera brand on the tank of an Enduro equipped with the V-twin that was once mounted on the Aprilia Shiver.
The cradle of this project would seem to be distant China, more precisely the establishment of colosso cinese Zongshen. After the agreement with Piaggio for the acquisition of projects and equipment for the (re-) construction of the 900 cc V-twin, the engine was supposed to equip only some models Cyclone, the premium brand of the groupbut it would now appear to be intended for branded use as well Gilera.
For now nothing is certain yet, but the aesthetics are evident from the concept created by the designer Oberdan Bezzi “Dakariana” with respectable technical equipment: spoked rims, upside down forkradial brake calipers, handguards and a fairing with fairing.
It’s unlikely that, even if it were Zongshen’s plans, it would come to us too: the Aprilia engine would not respect the constraints imposed by Euro 5. And then, as mentioned, for the moment it’s just a designer’s vision.
