Where Dedden crossed the line solo in 2017, the marathon skater now had to sprint for a new title. After nine laps of 8.7 kilometers it came down to a bunch sprint and Dedden proved to be the strongest. Teammate Merel Bosma finished second, Sharon Hendriks third. The win also feels like a kind of revenge for last year, when Dedden was the queen of natural ice in Lulea, Sweden, but missed out on the Open Dutch Championship. She took silver behind Luna Jonkers. After 2017, Dedden has won the second title today.
