Franco Picco visited the Fantic Motor plants in Santa Maria di Sala (VE), meeting the technicians who participated in the Rally Project, as well as all the company employees.
The great Franco finished two Dakar courses with the XEF 450 Rally Factory: the first with the development brought to the race last year, the second with the industrialization of the production model this year.
Mariano Roman, CEO of Fantic Motor, gave the driver from Vicenza a thank-you plate for the work done in these two years on the XEF 450 Rally, together with a commemorative jersey.
Picco was present with his hand bandaged, fresh from an operation to fix the fracture sustained in the penultimate stage of the Dakar.
The 50 units of the XEF 450 Rally Factory are available at authorized Fantic dealers. The bike is to all intents and purposes the twin of those engaged in the Dakar and in the Cross Country World Championship, with various standard accessories.
The Factory version mounts the robust racing instrumentation with roadbook and professional trip master, the chassis is designed to face extreme environmental conditions, with the front-mounted oil cooler for maximum air flow, the oversized oil filter with additional tank for guarantee the best lubrication, plates and hubs machined from solid and CNC machined, rear hub equipped with flexible couplings to soften the reactions of the exuberant 450 twin cam and hydraulic steering damper. The full titanium exhaust was developed in collaboration with Arrow, for maximum performance and a weight reduction of approximately 1.5 kg.
Each of the 50 Fantic XEF Rally Factory is personalized with a numbered plate and is delivered with a race kit, made up of the Fantic Rally Jersey and the 144-litre professional toolbox, which can be transformed into a trolley to bring all the necessary spare parts to the race.
The bike, produced in the historic Bologna factories of Motori Minarelli, has a price of 23,990 euros, while the XEF Rally version has a price of 16,490 euros.
