MOSCOW – Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev gave a harsh scorn to Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Fumio Kishida.
According to Medvedev, Kishida has tarnished the memory of hundreds of thousands of people who died in the United States (US) atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Medvedev’s remarks on Saturday (14/1/2023) were in response to a warning issued by Japanese prime minister and US President Joe Biden, which said, “If Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, it will be an act of hostility against humanity and cannot be justified.” .”
The two leaders issued the statement after talks in Washington DC on Friday.

Writing on Telegram, Medvedev, who serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, described the remarks as “horrible disgust.”
“I’m not even going to comment on the paranoia over our country’s nuclear plans,” he said.
The Russian official has repeatedly stated that Moscow has no intention of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

In October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said doing so “makes no sense politically or militarily.”
