Ford can boast a real European premiere at the Brussels Motor Show: the Bronco, which has been on the market in the United States since 2021, will come to Belgium and Luxembourg in a limited edition at the end of 2023. The sturdy off-road vehicle made a comeback after 25 years with a design that clearly refers to the original model from the 1960s. The Bronco will compete with the Land Rover Defender and the Jeep Wrangler and will be supplied in our country with a 2.3 liter four-cylinder and a 2.7 liter V6, both turbo petrol engines from the EcoBoost family. Prices are still awaited.
New Ranger and Transit Custom
In addition to the European premiere of the Bronco, three Belgian premieres can also be found on the Ford stand. Starting with the new Ranger, which was developed together with the new Volkswagen Amarok and is set to set new standards in terms of comfort in a pick-up. The Ranger is also available with a V6 turbo diesel for the first time. The version shown is a Wildtrak, but you can also reorder it as a linkRaptor. It’s just a pity that as a private individual you no longer enjoy tax benefits.
The other Belgian premiere is for the new Transit Custom and its electric counterpart, the E-Transit Custom. This model will also serve as the basis for the next VW Transporter and has a lower-looking design than its predecessor. Its electric range of 380 km is exemplary for its class, while still offering a payload of 1.1 tonnes and a towing capacity of 2 tonnes. The van will also be marketed as an (E-)Tourneo Custom passenger version, which should offer more comfort and just as much flexibility compared to its predecessor.
