René Franco is a Mexican presenter and broadcaster known for having quite a peculiar humor, but this time the driver fell prey to his own “wit” and Flor Amargo put him in his place.
Via Twitter Franco launched a transphobic question, Well, now Flor Amargo identifies as a non-binary trans person.
“Hey @FlorAmargo, serious question: Why haven’t you changed your name to Fler Amargue? In your radical way, Bitter is part of a culture you intend to combat. Thank you very much, regards.”
The question, which even has transphobic overtones, had its repercussions and Flor Amargo tacitly responded to the driver through a video: “Hello Rene Franco, first, trans people, non-binary people and people in general, we do not have to explain to anyone our pronouns, our names or our identities. Or perhaps I am asking you why do you consider yourself a man? And second, you asked me for a serious answer, there you go… Flor is the feminine, Bitter is masculine, that includes the non-binary”.
In addition, he asked Franco to stop sowing hatred and ignorance, making him see that Mexico is the second country where the most murders due to transphobia occur. And she stressed that he is a privileged white man, backed by other men.
René ran out of weapons to continue the controversy and preferred to get away from the fire that he himself caused: “My question to @FlorAmargo and his response generated radical and unusual verbal violence. I am leaving this conversation full of unnecessary violence. I am not a pretext for ANYONE’S ideological battles. Good night”.
