FC Utrecht has already said goodbye to mercenary Daishawn Redan after six months. The 21-year-old attacker would play football for Utrecht on a rental basis this entire season and was given a lot of playing time before the winter break, but Redan only made one appearance under new trainer Michael Silberbauer in the second half of the season.
The Dutch youth international returns to the German club Hertha BSC, although there is a chance that he will be rented out again until the summer. FC Emmen, among others, would be interested in the attacker.
“Daishawn is now free to find a new challenge for the coming six months,” says technical director Jordy Zuidam of FC Utrecht. Redan is under contract in Berlin until the summer of 2024. Hertha BSC previously rented him out to FC Groningen and PEC Zwolle. Redan played fourteen league games for FC Utrecht this season, ten of which in the starting line-up. He scored once.
