FC Twente maintains itself in the Eredivisie in the footsteps of leader Feyenoord. The team of coach Ron Jans defeated FC Utrecht 2-0 and therefore remains at the top of the ranking. The wing forwards Václav Cerny and Virgil Misidjan scored the goals on the new field in the Grolsch Veste, which was laid at the beginning of this week.
Twente’s last defeat dates from the beginning of October, at Feyenoord (2-0). Last week, Jans’ team took a point at national champion Ajax (0-0). Twente was far from satisfied with that, because it had played football against ten men for an hour.
FC Utrecht is still waiting for the first victory after the winter break in the Eredivisie. The team of the new coach Michael Silberbauer played a draw against Feyenoord (1-1) and Go Ahead Eagles (2-2) in recent weeks.
