Marvel’s Avengers was a resounding failure and it’s a matter of months before it stops receiving new content. Some players are disappointed with the news, as they believe that the project has a lot of potential and that it deserves a second chance. For this reason, they launched a petition for those responsible to make a sequel.
A group of players took to the Change.org site to ask Crystal Dynamics, Marvel Games and developer Embracer Group for another title in the franchise to learn from all the mistakes that were made with the current game. The authors even made a list with recommendations so that the sequel can succeed in a big way.

Players Have Ideas for a Marvel’s Avengers Sequel
At the time of writing this, the petition already registers 1,771 signatures out of 2,500 that they want to raise to attract the attention of the studios. Its managers assure that Marvel’s Avengers is very important to many players, since it has much-loved characters and was the means for its users to connect with other people during the pandemic.
The request was made to show that there are players who enjoyed the title “immensely” and that it became something very loved by a certain part of the community. Despite this, they understand that developers have to stop with support, but they believe that their work deserves another chance.
“We understand that there must be numerous compelling reasons to stop supporting this game, and as adults we can accept rational business decisions. We do not seek to reverse any decision or make childish demands or threats, but rather seek to start from gratitude,” the petition reads.
The authors stress that the investment of time and money in the title was worth it, and that there are signs that there is still “a huge demand” for titles based on Marvel characters. For this reason, they believe that the project should have a sequel.
“What we are suggesting, which we hope all parties will consider, is that Marvel’s Avengers version of Crystal deserves a second chance. We’re sure there’s a dedicated audience willing to see this solid foundation get a second chance,” fans say.
Players shared some suggestions to make the project a success and avoid the mistakes of the first game. For example, they believe that developers should bet on Unreal Engine 5, implement a subscription model to monetize the game or an efficient Battle Pass system. Finally, they highlight that the roadmap for the hypothetical sequel must be well planned, especially in its early years.
“The community that put this card together grew out of this game. This community went from casually playing together to coming together every Friday to compete in War for Wakanda races. What started out as friendly competition soon turned into a close community of friends. We even came together and raised money as a community to buy a PS5 for an injured member of our community. We all enjoy this game and the bonds of friendship it generates. All we ask is that you consider continuing this project hopefully in a new title that learns from mistakes but more importantly expands on the amazing attributes of the first one,” the petition concludes.
As you know, these types of campaigns usually have little or no impact on company decisions. So it is unlikely to see a sequel to Marvel’s Avengers after its resounding failure.
