WASHINGTON – Officers the police Memphis, United States of America (USA) , brutalized black men who were initially thought to be traffic offenders. The violence ended fatally because the victim died three days later.
Several videos released by police on Friday reveal that Tyre Nichols, 29, was beaten helplessly and then kicked in the face.
Not only that, one of the police officers also knelt on the black man when his condition weakened from the beating.
The bodycam footage also shows Nichols lying helpless on the ground, anguished screaming three times: “Mom!” when officers directed punches and kicks to his face.
He died in hospital on January 10, three days later.
The longest of the four videos comes from a camera on top of a utility pole in a southern US city. It lasted 31 minutes and there was no sound.
Two minutes later, police officers were seen mauling Nichols on the ground. As someone knelt on his body, another officer kicked him repeatedly.

The officer was seen directing several kicks to Nichols’ face. After repeated punches, the officers lifted Nichols to a standing position, supporting him while beating him with their fists until he fell to the asphalt — when they directed two more kicks to his face.
He was face down on the ground. An officer then grabbed him and placed him in a sitting position.
