BRUSSELS, 23 JAN – In January, the index that measures consumer confidence in the economy’s prospects recorded a further recovery, gaining an average of 1.1 points in the 20 Eurozone countries and 1.4 points in all of the 27 EU countries. This was announced by the Ecfin management of the European Commission on the basis of its flash estimate, specifying however that the index – which stood at -20.9 for the Eurozone and -22.4 for the EU – still remains well below than the average recorded over the long term.
