BRUSSELS, 30 JAN – The recovery of economic sentiment continues in Europe: in January, the Esi indicator recorded an increase in the euro area (+2.8 points, to 99.9) and in the EU-27 (+ 2.3 points, at 98 points). This was reported by the European Commission, highlighting that it is the “third consecutive increase” that brings the index closer “to the long-term average”. Among the major European economies, the index increased significantly in France (+4.4), Spain (+2.7), Germany (+2.5), and Italy (+1.7). The indicator of employment expectations (EEI) is also on the rise: +2.7 points in the Eurozone, at 110.1, and +2.3 points in the EU, at 108.5. (HANDLE).
