A face that we know well, for over 25 years in the automotive world, at the top of large companies and always driven by passion: Enrico Pellegrino begins 2023 with a new work commitment that sees him as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Nolangroup.
We had a chat with him to let him tell us how he experiences this change and what he thinks of the world of helmets, made up of great technology and attention to safety.
After so many years in the sector (Ford, Ducati, Yamaha, Peugeot Motocycles and MV Agusta) you accept this new assignment in a field which is that of accessories and no longer of the “motorcycle product”. How do you live this new challenge? What are the differences between the two sectors?
“I’m very happy with my choice. I’ve been working in this sector since 1997 and I’ve had the privilege of seeing this world from different angles, from the fifties to the premium bikes. I therefore think I had a privileged point of view and I can put my experience available to the company.
Contrary to what one might think, even behind a helmet there is a lot of technology, like on a motorbike.
What are Nolangroup’s future strategies?
“Nolan is based on two pillars, and the future will also be based on these: continuous product research and development and expansion into new markets. We are at the top in Europe, but we also want to grow in markets such as the United States and Asia, maintaining our high quality and safety standards.
There is room for improvement also with regard to the new mobility, pedal assisted bikes for example and urban mobility in general, with more versatile and lighter helmets such as the N34.”
One of the pluses of the company is certainly the production in Italy since ever, since 1972, will it remain like this?
Absolutely yes, there is no reason or intention to change. R&D, production, administration, offices: it’s all in Brembate (BG) and this is an advantage not to be missed!
Should we expect great innovations in terms of safety in the world of helmets, or do you think we are already at a level – at the moment – that cannot be surpassed?
“Perhaps not in terms of materials, the standard is already very high, but as regards the safety of the rider and passenger, yes, we can still improve. The helmet is a container that can house systems for communicating with the bike in an intelligent way We are working in this direction and we will soon have great news.”
Will racing remain one of Nolan’s focal points, as it has always been like this?
“Certainly yes. Also this year we will be present in all the categories of the World Championship and in the Superbike World Championship. After all, who better than a track rider to help us in the development of the helmets? We also have great former riders in the team, it is essential for us .”
The Management of Nolangroup by Enrico Pellegrino will lead the Group to achieve ambitious goals, including the entry into emerging markets and the consolidation of strategic commercial territories, the renewal of the historical and recognized brands of the Group, the expansion of the commercial network and the projection of the reality Bergamo towards even higher levels of innovation including investments in R&D, product, customer experience.
