Shrek? The crazy professor? Eddie Murphy confirmed that he will return to make another film in one of his most remembered sagas. This it is.
Playing 20+ roles in less than 4 movies might sound crazy, but it’s not immediately when it comes to Eddie Murphy. The comedian actor became popular during the 80s and 90s, but his fame grew even more when he dedicated himself to playing several characters in the same production. He did this with several of his great successes such as Norbit or The Nutty Professor.

At the beginning of the 2000s, when his fame did not enjoy the same brightness as decades before, he decided to join a luxury dubbing cast. Along with Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz she starred in Shrek. In this project, the humorist also gave the voice of him to the Donkey, a fact that immortalized him for a long time on the screens and memories of his followers.
However, among all those productions there was one that stole his heart, attention and time so much that he made three parts. In 1984, 1987 and 1994, Murphy starred in the acclaimed comedy franchise Super detective and Hollywood. The plot follows Axel Foley, a daring and undisciplined Detroit police officer, who travels to the most luxurious neighborhoods of Los Angeles to stop the criminals who murdered his friend.
Now, the trilogy will grow and will gain a fourth installment. The interpreter is willing to return to star her, for which he gave the reasons for his decision. In fact, he began his statements by giving a name and surname by which he will once again be in that project without a doubt.
“Jerry Bruckheimer, the original producer. When he got involved and started developing the script, he knew what Beverly Hills Cop was supposed to be. When he got involved again, that’s when it all started to fall into place. Because we tried for years and years, maybe 10, 12 years, and I must have read five or six different scripts, and it was never right. The studio was saying, ‘Come on. Here it is’. It was like, ‘It just isn’t. Jerry Bruckheimer went back in there, and he knows what he’s doing, and he put it together. He did (Top Gun: Maverick) last year, and Bad Boys is Jerry Bruckheimer. So we have the same brain behind Beverly Hills Cop, and it put all the pieces in place that were required for us to make a great movie and I’m excited for people to see it,” he revealed.

However, while he is excited to return, it was self critical and he recognized that it is no longer like before, when he filmed the previous three.
“I am not 21 years old. It was a long time ago, and it’s a really physical movie. And then I had to do some physical stuff. I know that Tom Cruise likes to do physical things, but (…) I like to be on the sofa. I don’t like to be jumping, shooting, and running, and I had to jump, shoot, and run, and as a result, I had a knee brace at the end of the movie. I had a knee brace, and my back is bad, and all that, but the movie is going to be special, ”he concluded to Collider.
