We’ve already had a small helping of slasher this year with M3GAN, but the real good stuff for fans will come with the sixth installment of Scream, which lands in theaters in less than two months.
After succeeding with the fifth film in the saga, the directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin y Tyler Gillett will return to movie theaters with Scream VI on March 10.
This time, Ghostface is ready to bring his misdeeds to the Big Apple and terrorize the people of New York with his mask inspired by Edvard Munch’s The Scream and his knife, fit for dispatching chain victims.
Scream VI is a direct sequel to the movie of 2022, so the events of said film will resonate in the new installment. But when exactly will Scream VI start compared to its predecessor?
Ghostface will soon be terrifying again in Scream VI
Co-director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin has revealed through an interview with NME the time lapse that we will find in Scream VI since the end of the previous film.
“Scream VI takes place shortly after the events of Scream 5, and follows the characters dealing with the massacre in Woodsboro. It follows them to New York, and then Ghostface enters the scene, throwing everything off the rails.”
The mask of Ghostface is an icon within the slasher genre, and has been since the release of the original Scream movie in the 90s.
The cast of Scream VI includes Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Jenna Ortega, Henry Czerny, Mason Gooding, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving, Hayden Panettiere y Courteney Cox. Naturally, the great absentee is Neve Campbellwho decided not to return due to an economic disagreement.
As we have said, Scream VI will hit Spanish theaters on March 10 with a new series of victims to add to the death counter. Ghostface.
