KIEV – The decision of a number of Western countries to send tank and armored vehicles to Ukraine considered to prolong the conflict. With the protracted conflict, it is believed that there will be more victims, especially civilians.
A delegate to the upper house of the Japanese Parliament, a member of the opposition Japan Innovation Party, Muneo Suzuki, argued that sending tanks to Ukraine would prolong the conflict and cause more victims.

“Germany made the decision to provide 14 Leopard 2 (tanks) to Ukraine. President Joe Biden announced that the United States will also supply M1 Abrams tanks,” Suzuki said, as quoted by TASS, Friday (27/1/2023).
“One thing can be said for sure that the war will be prolonged and the number of victims will grow as the West provides these weapons with the victims being mostly children, women and the elderly,” he wrote on his blog on Friday.
Lawmakers have once again called on Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and other world leaders to make efforts to resolve the situation around Ukraine peacefully. He gave an example of Japan, which according to him surrendered too late in World War II.

“Had Japan surrendered six months earlier, neither the bombing of Tokyo, nor the battle of Okinawa nor, moreover, the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have happened,” he concluded.
Croatian President Zoran Milanovic also shared a similar opinion. “This will only prolong the war. If the US and Russia cannot reach an agreement, which is not in sight, the war will not end,” Milanovic said.
Milanovic said EU member states would never take part in this issue. “According to some people, World War III has started. I will avoid this matter. As for tanks, Russian tanks and US tanks can both catch fire,” he said.
