Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova have won the Australian Open again. The Czech tennis players were 6-4 6-3 too strong for the Japanese players Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara in the women’s doubles final. The match lasted an hour and a half.
Krejcikova, 27, and Siniakova, 26, are the first tennis players to successfully defend their titles in Melbourne since Italian women Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, who won the tournament in 2013 and 2014.
For Krejcikova and Siniakova it meant their seventh overall victory at a grand slam tournament. Last year they won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
