BEIJING, 19 JAN – China said it has passed the peak of severe cases of the Covid-19 surge in all its provinces based on visits to fever clinics, emergency departments and in the number of serious patients in the hospitals, in the run-up to the great exodus of the Lunar New Year holiday. This is what Guo Yanhong, director of the National Health Commission’s Emergency Medical Department said, speaking at a briefing of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism set up by the central government.
