ROME, 16 JAN – Avatar: The Water Way continues to break records. The sequel to James Cameron’s three-time Academy Award-winning feature film brings its total takings to over 40 million euros in 5 weeks with over 4.5 million spectators and enters the ranking of the 10 best collections of all time in Italy. In particular, Avatar in this last weekend, albeit down by 56%, grossed 2 million 191 thousand euros, maintaining an average of 4,958 euros on 442 screens. Second place debuts Thanks guys by Riccardo Milani with Antonio Albanese, Sonia Bergamasco and Vinicio Marchioni: the collection is 776 thousand euros with an average cinema of 1,740 out of 445. Third, down one position, the other Italian film Three too many with Fabio De Luigi and Virginia Raffaele earning 640 thousand euros with an average 1,342 SU in 477 theaters reaching a total of 3 million 885 thousand in 21 days. Overall, the Italian box office reached 6,690,264 euros for 891,328 admissions, down 45% compared to last week but with stratospheric growth (+104%) over 2022. (ANSA).
