The KNMI warns that the slipperiness in Limburg can even last into the afternoon. In other places, the smoothness disappears earlier this morning.
Only in the coastal provinces this morning no warning at all. There, the temperature on the ground is above zero, so the rain does not cause ice, explains Buienradar weatherman William Huizinga.
‘Precarious situation’
“The temperature on the ground only needs to drop just below zero and then it can become treacherously slippery. That is why the KNMI also issued a warning this morning,” explains Huizinga. The meteorologist currently calls the situation ‘very precarious’. Which way it goes depends just on how cold it gets.

Tonight and the coming night it is often cloudy and especially at night there is a chance of a shower. The temperature then drops to 2 degrees.
