The Dutch chess player Anish Giri has not been able to reduce his deficit to Nodirbek Abdoesattorov in the eleventh round of Tata Steel Chess in Wijk aan Zee. In a direct confrontation with the leader from Uzbekistan, he did not get further than a draw. The game was already over after 29 moves.
Giri continues to follow Abdusattorov by half a point in the standings. He will play against his compatriot Jorden van Foreest on Saturday and close the prestigious tournament on Sunday with a match against the Romanian Richárd Rapport. Abdoesattorov is still playing chess against the American Wesley So and Van Foreest.
