Former Manchester United striker Eric Cantona has spoken out about 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo starting a new footballing adventure in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr. “I think there are two types of players. Those like me who retire young and others who want to play until they’re 40. Some want to continue because they think they are still 25, while others stop and think their job is to help young players. They realize that they will no longer be able to take part in all matches. So does Ibrahimovic in Milan, so it was for Giggs and Maldini. But I think Ronaldo still doesn’t understand that he’s not 25 anymore. Instead of expressing dissatisfaction with his modest contribution to the cause, he moves forward. He should have said: “Okay, I’m not 25 anymore, I can’t play every game, but I will help the young players and I am aware of my current position,” Cantona said.
