ROME, 23 JAN – They managed some restaurants in the center of Rome. For this, five members of the Camorra-style Moccia clan were sentenced today by the court of the capital. The judges inflicted nine years’ imprisonment for Angelo Moccia, for the investigators at the head of the criminal structure. The charges against the defendants range from extortion to the fictitious registration of assets, with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method. In addition to the boss, the magistrates of Piazzale Clodio ordered four other sentences ranging from 8 years to one year and 4 months. One of the defendants was acquitted. The trial arose from an investigation by the DDA of Rome coordinated by the substitute Giovanni Musarò. In September 2020 the carabinieri of the provincial command seized some restaurants in the center and arrested 13 people including Angelo Moccia himself. (HANDLE).
