THE ANGELS – Perpetrator mass shooting in Monterey Park, California, United States (US) was found dead when being chased by the police.
He was identified as Huu Can Tran (72). SWAT police officers raided the van and found him dead from self-inflicted gunfire.
Huu Can Tran, using a semi-automatic weapon, slaughtered ten people and injured at least ten others during Chinese New Year celebrations.

“There are still questions in my mind, namely: What is the motive of this shooter? Does he have a mental illness? Is he a domestic abuser?” said Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, as quoted by Russia Today, Monday (23/1/2023).
The tragedy occurred Saturday night, when tens of thousands of people gathered for California’s largest two-day festival in the predominantly Asian American community of Monterey Park.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., the suspect opened fire inside the Star Ballroom Dance Studio, killing five women and five men, and wounding 10 others, all reportedly in their 50s or older.

The gunman fled the scene, and less than 30 minutes later tried to enter another club, the Lai Lai Ballroom near the Alhambra.
The customers were lucky enough to disarm the suspect without causing any casualties, but the suspect managed to escape again, prompting police to launch an hours-long manhunt.
The suspect’s white van was eventually found about 30 miles away in Torrance, around 10.30am on Sunday.
However, when the SWAT team arrived, officers on the scene reportedly heard one shot from inside the vehicle. The sheriff confirmed that Tran’s body was found inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
