What is “The Whale” about?
Charlie (Brendan Fraser) is a teacher who is confined to the house after gaining considerable weight. His family wants nothing to do with Charlie and he lives completely alone, except for visits from a missionary, who pushes him to find God, and a nurse friend named Liz, who cares for him and begs him to go to the hospital in vain.
The film is directed by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (“Requiem for a Dream,” “The Black Swan” and “Mother!”).
