What is “The Whale” about?
Charlie (Brendan Fraser) is a teacher who is confined to the house after gaining considerable weight. His family wants nothing to do with Charlie and he lives completely alone, except for visits from a missionary, who pushes him to find God, and a nurse friend named Liz, who cares for him and begs him to go to the hospital in vain.
The film is directed by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (“Requiem for a Dream,” “The Black Swan” and “Mother!”). This production was already released in the United States and saw the light for the first time at the Venice Film Festival 2022, from August 31 to September 10, the day in which Brendan went viral on social networks for his moving reaction that included some tears. of happiness for the recognition of the public and the criticism of his work.
