Borussia Dortmund has risen to fourth place in the Bundesliga with a win over Bayer Leverkusen. Dortmund won the away game 2-0 and came on 34 points. That is as many as Freiburg, but 3 less than leader Bayern Munich.
Dortmund took the lead in the 33rd minute through Karim Adeyemi. Julian Brandt gave a cross from the right and Sébastien Haller cleverly stepped over the ball, which fell right at the feet of the freed Adeyemi. He could tap right in.
In the second half, Borussia doubled the margin with the help of Leverkusen. Edmond Tapsoba worked Marius Wolf’s cross behind his own goalkeeper. Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso brought Mitchel Bakker, among others, but the home team could not come back.
At Leverkusen, Jeremie Frimpong started in the base. Daley Sinkgraven and Timothy Fosu-Mensah remained on the bench. Donyell Malen also sat on the bench at Dortmund for the entire match.
