Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked the Bimbo company to increase its investments in Canada, where it already has 16 production plants and some 4,300 employees.
Trudeau made the request to the CEO of Grupo Bimbo, Daniel Servitje, during the meeting that the two held on Monday in Mexico City as part of the X Summit of North American Leaders that takes place in Mexico City.
As revealed on Tuesday by the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada (OPMC), Trudeau expressed his gratitude to Servitje for Grupo Bimbo’s investments and operations in the country.
“The prime minister encouraged Grupo Bimbo to maintain and expand its investments in Canada,” the OPMC said in a statement.
Trudeau stressed during the meeting with Servitje that Canada is an attractive country for investment thanks to its low costs, access to export markets, commitment to renewable energy and state-of-the-art agricultural technology.
Grupo Bimbo, which also has 11 distribution centers and 183 warehouses in Canada, It is the largest Mexican investor in the country.
