War in Ukraine, Biden announces the shipment of new weapons to Kiev
After hearing Scholz, Macron, Sunak and Meloni by telephone, US President Joe Biden confirmed, in a short speech at the White House, the sending of 31 Abrams tanks, “the most powerful in the world”, to Ukraine.
“I had a long conversation with Scholz, Macron, Sunak and Meloni. We are united in our support for Ukraine” declared the president of the United States of America.
Biden therefore confirmed the sending of the tanks to Ukraine on the recommendation of the Pentagon: “We will start training as soon as possible. With the Abrams, Kiev will achieve strategic objectives”.
“There is no threat to Russia in any of this. We are helping Ukraine to defend itself” underlined the head of the White House, subsequently reiterating that: “Ours is not an offensive against Russia”.
