ANCONA, 23 JAN – Firefighters teams are also busy in Senigallia to monitor the level of the Misa river: a flood wave is expected this morning and the provincial rescue system has been reinforced. Following the intense rainfall that has been going on for hours, in the Senigallia area, maximum attention is paid to all watercourses in the Senigallia area. In the morning the upstream ditches and the Cesano river, which runs parallel to the north of the Nevola and the Misa, overflowed in some points in the fields, in particular in the Ponte Rio area between Trecastelli and Castelvecchio, a few kilometers from Senigallia, between the 424 Pergolese and the Sp 154. In these hours, maximum alert is in Senigallia and in the hinterland countries already affected by the flooding of the waterways on 15 September and the situation is being monitored in view of the flood of the main river, the Misa , which is about to reach the city center (it was scheduled around 9 but the event has been postponed by a few hours): in the meantime some underpasses have flooded, shops are preparing bulkheads to prevent water from entering, the A14 toll booth is thus closed as also stretches of SS16 with the invitation of the Municipality not to move until the emergency is over and to remain on the upper floors. The administration, in addition to activating the Municipal Operations Center, has opened the reception center at the bishop’s seminary in via Cellini to accommodate people who need it in case of inconvenience in their respective homes caused by bad weather and the flooding of the river.
