ROME, 17 JAN – The bad weather continues in the Centre-South. Thunderstorms will persist over Campania, Tyrrhenian sectors of Basilicata and central-northern Calabria, Lazio, especially eastern and southern sectors, and western sectors of Abruzzo and Molise. Expect heavy showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. Still strong winds with gusts of storms, moreover, on Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, with reinforcements up to strong storms along the hills. This is indicated by a weather alert from the Civil Protection. Attention, the warning continues, to the strong storm surges along the exposed coasts. From the early hours of tomorrow snowfalls are expected, at altitudes above 600-800 meters in Sardinia, Tuscany and Umbria, with weak to moderate contributions to the ground. Snowfalls at 1000-1200 m altitudes, decreasing to 600-800 m, in Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise, with contributions to the ground from weak to moderate, up to abundant at the upper altitudes of eastern Lazio and western Abruzzo. Orange alert due to hydrogeological risk in Campania and part of Calabria, Molise and Basilicata has been assessed for tomorrow. Yellow alert was also assessed in Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and part of Lazio, Sardinia, Molise, Basilicata and Calabria. (HANDLE).
