CANBERRA (AP/RTR) – Australian Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) has won the Tour Down Under. In the last stage he finished second, just behind Simon Yates (Team Jayco AlUla). That was enough for the overall victory because he had started the final stage on Sunday with a lead of 15 seconds on the Briton, who was second in the general classification.
In the last stage, the riders had to climb Mount Lofty five times, which also included the finish. Australian Ben O’Connor (AG2R – Citroën Team) finished third.
