Las AI generated images They may be spectacular and beautiful, but the artists are faithful to the fact that there is nothing more beautiful than their own work. This controversy has risen to a higher level, since recently a class action lawsuit on behalf of the artists goes against Stability AI y Midjourney (two companies with AI-generated imaging platforms) and the site that brings together an international community of artists, DevianArt.

The lawsuit has been filed in California by three artists: Sarah Andersen, Kelly McKernan, and Karla Ortiz, on behalf of all affected artists, seeking “compensation for damages caused by Stability AI, DeviantArt and Midjourneyand a court order to prevent future damages.” The lawsuit is because the three companies make use of Stable Diffusiona collage tool that remixes the copyrighted works of millions of artists whose work was used as training data.
That is why it is alleged: direct copyright infringementindirect copyright infringement related to counterfeiting, violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), violation of the publicity rights of class members, breach of contract related to the DeviantArt Terms of Service and various violations of California unfair competition laws.
