The advance of Artificial Intelligence does not stop, being applied in various daily aspects of the lives of many people, who rely on these technologies to finish tasks faster within their jobs. This is how we have told you about how, for example, some AI is used to assist developers in the creation of video games.
You can read: They create a video game prototype in 18 hours with the help of AI, which without its assistance would take days to be developed
But also, these bots have been used in a bad way, like many students around the world, who use chatbots like ChatGPT to write their homework, with the repercussion that this software is banned from some schools.
And now another misuse of Artificial Intelligence has been found, which is beginning to become common to see in online games of some video games. It’s about players cheating in Rocket League, using AI bots who play for them in Psyonix’s free-to-play soccer and car title.
According to a Reddit post, a player shares a video where we can see that a player handles the ball perfectly on the ground, so the most advanced Rocket League fans have detected that it is a special type of bot, generated by AI.
Accusations that we can confirm with other publications where this type of bots have also been revealed, for example in some videos shared on YouTube like the one I leave below, where a player indicates that “AI has infiltrated Rocket League”.
A situation that, as always, spoils the gaming experience of any community since nobody likes to compete against cheaters. But in this particular case, it is also quite worrying since, as we have seen, AIs learn quite quickly, so it would not be very difficult for them to become “pro gamer bots” in any game, surpassing the best human players.
