TEHERAN – A man armed with an assault rifle opened fire at a security post at the Embassy (Embassy) of Azerbaijan in Tehran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of Azerbaijan in Baku reported this. The embassy’s head of security died while two guards were injured in the incident on Friday morning (27/1/2023).
The foreign ministry described the survivors’ condition as “satisfactory” and promised to provide additional information as the investigation into the “malicious attack” progresses.
Images purporting to show the aftermath of the incident circulated on social media, including a graphic photo of a body covered in cloth lying on the floor covered in blood. The same body without cover was also filmed in a short video clip.
