Recent reports claim that Apple would be about to launch its new MacBook Pro models todayalthough the company has not made any official announcement so far.
All this is based on several leaks that would confirm not only this launch, since they affirm that, in the list of the regulatory database, it is revealed that the MacBook Pro laptop will come equipped with WiFi 6E support.
The models MacBook Pro Current devices support the WiFi 6 standard, which is limited to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, and only the latest iPad Pro models have support for this new technology.
This new model has appeared in the Canadian Radio Equipment List database under the number A2779. Apart from compatibility with WiFi 6Ethe devices are also expected to feature some changes (not much) compared to the current generation models, such as more ports, a notch at the top of the screen, etc.
Apple could launch the new MacBook Pro models today
Wade Penner on Twitter first discovered the regulatory listing, which reveals a “product marketing name” of “MacBook Pro” with an “equipment description” of “computer portable“.
This is something that has been waiting since the end of 2022, however, the release was pushed back to 2023 with industry sources citing the release in the first half.
The big point that confirms that they could finally see the light of day today is that Apple It applies for regulatory approvals in various countries around the world, but the details are kept under wraps until the product sees the light of day.
According to the rumors, the new MacBook Pro models could come in two sizes: 14-inch and 16-inchwith the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.
Although it is true that these new models will integrate improvements, no major advances are expected over previous modelssince, for example, they will present the same design as the models announced in October 2021, so it seems logical that these will not be exhibited at any special event of the brand.
Knowing this, it seems quite logical that these new devices are announced via a press release. Also, Apple usually unveils new products on Tuesdaysand this whole set of leaks seems to fit his strategy.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who we already know closely follows Apple, states that “the new MacBook Pros are imminent (Apple has an announcement tomorrow, January 17, with press briefings later this week and the uprising of the embargoes next Monday)”.
In the meantime, what Apple has confirmed is that it will be launching a touchscreen MacBook by 2025, which is likely to be a significant departure from the company’s current lineup of laptops.
